SU Hosts Chesapeake Studies Conference September 15
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University hosts the annual Chesapeake Studies Conference Friday, September 15. This year’s theme is “Bringing Communities Together.”
The Chesapeake Studies conference is an interdisciplinary, scholarly exploration of the Chesapeake Bay, its watershed and the Delmarva region. Sponsored by Salisbury University and the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, the conference brings together scholars, researchers, policymakers, practitioners, students and interested non-academics from diverse disciplinary perspectives, including the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and arts.
The opening keynote panel focuses on 40 years of Chesapeake restoration from the perspective of Chesapeake scientists. Open sessions, a poster session and closing keynote highlight the day’s schedule.
Registration is $120, $60 for students. Registration is free for SU and University of Maryland Eastern Shore faculty, staff and students, though registration is still required.
