SU's 'Writers on the Shore' Series Fall Guests Announced

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s fall Writers on the Shore series begins with its annual Creative Writing Festival 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, in the Bennett Family Auditorium of Perdue Hall.

The event features readings from students in the Creative Writing Program, celebrating the new academic year. 

Additional presentations are 7:30 p.m. select Wednesdays in the Worcester Room of the Commons.

Upcoming authors include:

  • September 27 – Jane Satterfield: Satterfield is the author of five poetry books, including The Badass Brontës, Apocalypse Mix, Her Familiars and Assignation at Vanishing Point. She is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts poetry fellowship, the 49th Parallel Award for Poetry from Bellingham Review and the Ledbury Poetry Festival Prize, among other prizes.
  • October 11 – Zach VandeZande: VandeZande is a teacher and editor living in Burlington, VT. He is the author of the novel Apathy and Paying Rent and two short story collections: Liminal Domestic: Stories and Lesser American Boys.
  • November 1 – George David Clark and Elisabeth Clark: George David Clark is the author of Reveille and Newly Not Eternal. His recent poems have appeared or are forthcoming in AGNI, The Believer, Crazyhorse, Five Points and The Yale Review, among others. Elisabeth Clark is an educator and the managing editor of 32 Poems, with a professional background in social work and administration.
