SALISBURY, MD---Making winning ad pitches for multinational companies like Perdue Farms takes practice. Just ask the competitors at this year’s Advertising Challenge, hosted by Salisbury University’s Mid-Atlantic Sales and Marketing Institute (MASMI).
The event included four contests: print and video advertising, audience choice print and elevator pitches.
Ella Messick of St. Petersburg, FL, received $500 for her first-place finish in the print ad competition. Runners-up included Riley Jones of Easton, MD, in second place ($300) and John Mannino of Vienna, VA, in third ($200).
Peyton O’Brien of Lutherville, MD, topped competitors in the elevator pitch session, taking home a $500 prize. Followed by Karsyn Bennett of Leonardtown, MD, in second ($300) and Olivia Totaro of Catonsville, MD, in third ($200).
O’Brien also earned the $500 video advertising first-place prize. Jessie Fox of Salisbury followed in second ($300) and Trae Bunting of Delmar, MD, in third ($200).
Mandy Wagner of Berlin, MD, earned $100 for the print ad audience choice award.
This year’s product sponsor was Perdue Farms. Finalists were tasked with creating a print and video ad about the featured product, Air Fryer Ready Wings, and pitching the same, to Perdue Farms Chairman Jim Perdue and CEO Kevin McAdams.
