Fall MASMI Sales Championship Winners Announced

SALISBURY, MD---Some 74 students recently vied for top honors during Salisbury University’s Mid-Atlantic Sales and Marketing Institute’s (MASMI’s) eleventh biannual sales championship competition. The event included two contests, one for overall sales and one for elevator pitches.
Bethany Geiger of Annapolis received $1,000 for her first-place finish in the overall sales competition. Runners-up included Joshua Barke of Ellicott City, MD, in second place ($500); Triston Dorfman of Frederick, MD, in third ($300) and Luke Orner of Reisterstown, MD, in fourth earned $200 and $100 for best resume.
Karsyn Bennett of Leonardtown, MD, topped competitors in the elevator pitch session, taking home a $300 prize. She was followed by Viktoria Dorn of Severna Park, MD, in second ($200); and Peyton Saponaro of Colora, MD, in third ($100).
Winners were decided by judges, buyers and observers representing MASMI sponsors and local businesses. The event followed an “etiquette dinner” for the students and corporate partners, also hosted by the institute and SU’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business.
Gold Sponsor Choptank Transport/Hub Group also was the product sponsor. The four finalists were tasked with selling the shipping logistics company’s services to Sonny Hopkins, Hub Group’s assistant vice president of brokerage.
Some 21 additional MASMI sponsors sent their senior-level executives to take part in the event.
