SU's Fall Writers on the Shore Series Returns

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University presents its fall Writers on the Shore series 8 p.m. select Wednesdays during the semester in the Worcester Room of the Commons, unless otherwise noted.

Upcoming authors and events include:

• September 11 – Creative Writing Festival, Bennett Family Auditorium of Perdue Hall: SU students read selections from their work and welcome new students. The festival is hosted by senior creative writing student Colleen Salisbury.
• September 15 – Ryan Habermeyer: Habermeyer is the author of the short story collections Salt Folk and The Science of Lost Futures. His works have been widely published in such literary journals as Conjunctions, Alaska Quarterly Review, Massachusetts Review and DIAGRAM. A Fulbright Scholar who has lived, taught and studied in Poland, Scotland, Spain and Mexico, he is an associate professor of English at SU.
• October 9 – Rachel M. Hanson: Hanson is the author of The End of Tennessee: A Memoir, and her nonfiction has won Best of the Net. Her work can be found in Creative Nonfiction, The Iowa Review, Ninth Letter and elsewhere. She is an assistant professor of English at the University of North Carolina-Asheville and is the executive director of the literary nonprofit organization Punch Bucket Lit.
• October 23 – Victoria Lancelotta: Lancelotta’s newest book, Ways to Disappear, won the Fiction Collective 2 Catherine Doctorow Innovative Fiction Prize. She is the author of Here in the World: 13 Stories and the novels Far and Coeurs Blesses. She is the recipient of a Tennessee Individual Artist Fellowship, multiple Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist grants and a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship.
• November 13 – Sarah Barber: Barber holds an M.F.A. from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is an associate professor of English at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Her poems have appeared in journals such as New Ohio Review, Columbia Poetry Review and Crazyhorse, and she is author of two collections: Country House and The Kissing Party.
