Acclaimed Cellist Larry Stomberg Performs October 25
SALISBURY, MD---Acclaimed cellist Larry Stomberg performs 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, in the Great Hall of Salisbury University’s Holloway Hall.
A member of the renowned Serafin String Quartet, Stomberg is an accomplished musician who made his solo performance debut is 1999 at Carnegie Hall. That performance was lauded by Strings Magazine for its “style and elegance” and “lyrical expressiveness.” He has since released his debut solo album, The American Cello. He also has premiered works at New York's Miller Theater and Merkin Hall.
Stomberg performed four years with the Tulsa Philharmonic in Oklahoma and served two years as assistant principal cellist in the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. He also has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at the Tanglewood Music Center, Sarasota Music Festival, Texas Music Festival and Kneisel Hall Festival. He currently serves on the performing faculty at the Eastern Music Festival.
He also was a founding member of the piano trios Trilogy and Johannes Trio, as well as the mixed ensemble Brightmusic. He passes his musical knowledge and prowess on to others as a faculty member in the Music Department at the University of Delaware.
