Alison Siegel Senior Voice Recital February 18

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury State University student Alison Siegel, soprano, performs her senior voice recital in the Great Hall of Holloway on the SSU campus on Sunday, February 18, at 2 p.m. The free performance features music from the Baroque period through contemporary and musical theatre selections and from composers Handel, Mozart, Schubert, Debussy, Rodrigo and Gershwin.

Siegel will be accompanied by pianist Susan Zimmer, SSU Music Department, and flutist Elena DeRosa. SSU sophomore Patrick Gates will accompany Siegel in a duet. 

Siegel, a music education major, with a concentration in voice, anticipates a December graduation date after completing her student teaching on the Western Shore. 

Currently the treasurer of SSU’s chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon music fraternity and a member of the Music Educators National Conference, Siegel has appeared as a soloist throughout the Salisbury-Ocean City area, including with the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, professional theatre productions and local fundraisers.

In addition to solo performances, Siegel has performed 10 semesters in the SSU Chamber Choir, where she is the alto section leader; she also sang as a soprano and an alto in the University Chorale and Musical Theater Ensembles. In 1999, she served as the vocal/choral teacher’s assistant for the Maryland Summer Center for the Arts Program. She has also directed some children’s musical theatre.
