Attitudes are Changing about War says Lecturer April 23

John MuellerSALISBURY, MD---Has the world changed its opinion about war since World War II? Is armed conflict between major powers all but obsolete as a result of changes in cultural attitudes over the last 60 years? John Mueller, an author and professor at Ohio State University thinks so and presents his case during a lecture at Salisbury University Wednesday, April 23, at 7 p.m. in Holloway Hall’s Great Hall.

Mueller is Woody Hayes chair of National Security Studies, Mershon Center and professor of political science at Ohio State. He is author of a book analyzing public opinion during the Korean and Vietnam wars, War, Presidents and Public Opinion, and Retreat from Doomsday: The Obsolescence of Major War. He is currently working on a book about ethnic and other wars titled The Remnants of War: Thugs as Residual Combatants.

Mueller has published dozens of articles, newspaper columns and two musical scripts. The April 23 lecture is free and open to the public. For more details call 410-543-6271.
