Author Pradelli Discusses 'En mi nombre' April 11

Angela PradelliSALISBURY, MD---Author Angela Pradelli discusses her 2014 book En mi nombre in Spanish 6 p.m. Monday, April 11, in the Social Room of Salisbury University’s Holloway Hall.

En mi nombre (In My Name) compiles five testimonies telling the stories of children whose parents disappeared during the Argentinean dictatorship from 1976-1983. Most of the 500 children impacted were given to military families to raise as their own.

Since 1977, the organization Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo has searched for the children who were stolen and illegally adopted during the dictatorship, with the goal of returning them to their surviving biological families. Pradelli spent several years working with the organization and some of the 119 children reunited with their families so far, conducting interviews and collecting information for the book.

Sponsored by the Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies Department, admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-3641 or visit the SU website at www.salisbury.edu.
