Bookstore Donates Quilts to Habitat

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Bookstore staff recently presented John Johnson, executive director of Habitat for Humanity on Maryland’s Lower Shore and Rohry Flood, president of SU’s Chapter of Habitat, with two quilts made by past and present employees of the Bookstore. 

The quilts, composed of house and tree squares, was a Bookstore team project with everyone involved at some level of the quilt-making process including selecting the pattern and fabric, cutting templates, buying materials and sewing.

An ecumenical Christian ministry created in 1976 by Millard Fuller, Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating poverty housing. With 1,916 affiliates in 67,  nations the organization has built and sold more than 100,000 homes to partner families at no profit with zero-interest mortgages.
