Commission for Women to Honor Area Leaders March 9

SALISBURY, MD---As part of Women's History Month celebrations, the Wicomico County Commission for Women (WCCW) is honoring 13 area leaders including two from Salisbury University: BEACON Managing Director Ruth Baker and Nabb Research Center Director Rebecca F. Miller.

Maryland Delegate Addie Eckhardt, (R- 37B), is featured speaker at the Women's Recognition Day 2003 ceremonies Sunday, March 9, from 2-4 p.m. in SU's Great Hall of Holloway Hall. WCCW recognizes outstanding accomplishments that women have made to Wicomico County through both social change and personal triumph in employment, education, civic engagement and public service, said Charletta House, chair of the commission.

The WCCW Hall of Fame also posthumously honors women whose legacies have enriched the lives of all.

Area women being honored also include: Barbara Butler, Loretta Carr, Maryrose Custer, Cecelia Dennis, Julia Gibbs, Virginia Glaze, Laura Hamilton, Violet McLennon, Kathleen Momme, June Sargent and Catherine Smoot, M.D.
