Corby Wins Women's Recognition Award"
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Betsey Corby, director of grants and sponsored research at Salisbury State University, is the recipient of the Women’s Recognition Award, given by the Wicomico County Commission for Women (WCCW). Corby was recognized for her invitation to community-based organizations to share in her department’s resources. Corby is the 15th SSU employee to receive the WCCW award.
“Our grant resources are open to the public,” Corby said. “We help them achieve their goals and missions in the community.”
The award, presented in celebration of Women’s History Month, is given by WCCW to women in the community who have worked to achieve social change and personal triumph in the areas of employment, education, civic activities and public service.
SSU alumnae who also received the award this year include: Wicomico County Councilwoman Rebecca Taylor-White ’94, Salisbury Mayor Barrie Parsons-Tilghman ’73, Lori Brewster ’84, Carol Prager ’88 and Lisa Spicer ’82.
