Day, Beauchamp Continue SU Environmental Studies Colloquium Series Mar. 4

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Environmental Studies Colloquium Series with the presentation “What's Happening in Your City and County?” with Salisbury City Council President Jake Day and former Wicomico County public Works Director Lee Beauchamp.

Their talk is 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, in Henson Science Hall Room 243.

Sponsored by the Environmental Studies Department, admission is free and the public is invited. Upcoming presentations in the series, held select Wednesdays during the semester, include:

•March 25, Henson Science Hall Room 243 – “To Be or Not to Be: Scale Matters,” a case study of Wicomico County ponds with Drs. Michael Folkoff of the Geography and Geosciences Department and James Hatley of the Philosophy Department;

•April 15, Henson Science Hall Room 243 – “Thinking in Place: Traditional Knowledge and the Humanity of Ecological Wisdom in Niitsitapi Creation Stories” with Dr. Nimachina Hernandez, a member of the Anishinaabe Nation and former fellow in the Women’s Studies in Religion Program at Harvard University’s divinity school; and

•April 22, Sea Gull Square Lawn (rain location: Henson Science Hall Room 243) – “Songs of the Chesapeake: Music and Stories of the Chesapeake Bay” with musicians Teresa Whitaker and Frank Schwarz, hosted by award-winning author Tom Horton of the Environmental Studies Department.
