Germany Trip Interest Meeting December 2
SALISBURY, MD---An interest meeting for persons interested in a study abroad opportunity in late May through late June in Germany will be held on Sunday, December 2, at 2 p.m. in the Modern Languages House on the campus of Salisbury University.
Located on a University System of Maryland campus in Swabisdh Gmund, the course features an extensive travel component with lectures in the classroom and on site; museums, galleries, historical sites, exhibitions and cultural events; and free time to take advantage of seeing Germany and surrounding countries.
Students, housed in dormitories with meals provided Monday-Friday, will be offered two classes one in Roman history and another in German language. An intensive class in Roman Germany and the living classical heritage in Germany (History 390) will be taught by Dr. G. Ray Thompson, chair of SU’s Department of History; and Klaudia Thompson of the SU Modern Languages Department will instruct a practicum in German (German 105) and a course on German Culture (MDFL 245).
Included are excursions to Roman Trier, one of the four capitals of the Roman Empire and to Arles, Organe, Nimes, Vienne, the Pont du Gard in France and Aachen, a capital of the Holy Roman Empire, and then to Munich and the Wittlesbach castles in the Bavarian Alps.
