Global Warming Expert Patrick Michaels Speaks October 19
class=""MsoNormal"">SALISBURY, MD---What is the current impact of global warming? Find out as Dr. Patrick Michaels, nationally recognized climatologist, speaks on the topic 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.
class=""MsoNormal"">A senior fellow of the Cato Institute, Michaels is a research professor of environmental sciences at the University of Virginia as well as a visiting scientist with the Marshall Institute in Washington, D.C. He is a contributing author and reviewer of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
class=""MsoNormal"">Michaels is past president of the American Association of State Climatologists as well as program chair for the American Meteorological Society.
class=""MsoNormal"">His writing has been published in major scientific journals including: Climate Research, Climatic Change and Journal of Climate. Michaels’ articles have also appeared in prominent newspapers such as the Washington Post, USA Today and the Los Angeles Times.
class=""MsoNormal"">Michaels earned his Ph.D. in ecological climatology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1979.
