Friday January 30, 2004
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury’s Promise at Salisbury University and the Lower Shore Workforce Alliance kick off their month-long Groundhog Job Shadowing Program Monday, February 2. Throughout the month, business in Wicomico County are asked to host students from 3:30-5 p.m. on any school day and let them “shadow” employees as they go through their normal work day. The initiative gives students a look at the marketable skills needed to help them excel in their desired professions and open their eyes to careers that are available in the county. Businesses that want to participate, but cannot accommodate the recommended hours are encouraged to register the hours and days they will be available for the program. For more information call Christie Smith of Salisbury’s Promise at 410-677-5396 or Rebecca Webster of the Lower Shore Workforce Alliance at 410-341-3835.
