'Harriet Tubman' Continues Delmarva Discussions Series Wednesday, October 20

SALISBURY, MD---A presidential advisor, a notorious killer and two slaves—one a fugitive, the other loyal to her masters even after being granted freedom—these Eastern Shore women made history in the 1800s.

Their biographies—Anna Ella Carroll, Patty Cannon, Harriet Tubman and Eliza Benson—are the focus as the Delmarva Discussions Series returns to Salisbury University this fall. The theme is “Unconventional Women of the Eastern Shore.” All discussions are led by members of SU’s History Department at 7 p.m. in Blackwell Library.

Remaining presentations include:

• October 20: “Harriet Tubman” with Dr. Clara Small
• November 3: “Anna Carroll” with Dr. Dean Kotlowski
• November 17: “Eliza Benson” with Dr. Ray Thompson

Those attending Delmarva Discussions are asked to have read the books in advance. Books are available at Blackwell Library two weeks prior to the discussion.
