'IN TRAINING' Art Exhibit at SU March 30-June 10
SALISBURY, MD---Works by artist Liss LaFleur are on display during the exhibit “IN TRAINING” March 30-June 10 in the Electronic Gallery, Conway Hall Room 128.
An artist talk and reception with LaFleur is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, in Conway Hall Room 153.
The solo exhibition includes neon, sound, 3-D-printed objects and performance works, reflecting over three years of research focused on French feminist artist, photographer and writer Claude Cahun.
LaFleur has won several awards, including an Emerging Artist Publication Fellowship from Peripheral Visions Arts and a professional development grant from the College Art Association. She also was selected for the 2016 Lumen Prize’s “long list.”
She has exhibited in galleries, film festivals and other venues throughout the U.S. and beyond, including the TATE Modern and Cannes Court Métrage, and online with PBS, POV Digital, the Boston LGBT Film Festival and the Reykjavik Art Museum.
Features or reviews on LeFleur’s work have appeared in Hyperallergic, Independent Magazine, CICA Gallery Press and The Advocate, among others. She is an assistant professor of new media art at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX.
