'Lee Knier and Friends' Inaugurates Fall Feature Fridays Series September 15

Lee KnierSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s fall Feature Fridays downtown Salisbury lecture and performance series begins September 15 with the concert “Lee Knier and Friends,” featuring trombonist Lee Knier of SU’s Music, Theatre and Dance Department.

All presentations in the series are held from 6-7 p.m. at The Brick Room, 116 N. Division St.

Knier is the director of the Salisbury Pops at SU, and has served as interim conductor of the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, assistant conductor of the New Jersey Youth Symphony and assistant director of bands at Temple University.

As a trombonist Knier performs regularly with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony. He has also performed with the St. Peter by the Sea Orchestra, Metro Lyric Opera Orchestra, Garden State Philharmonic, Brookdale Big Band, Tex Benecke and the Modernaires, and the Steel Pier Show Band. He also has toured with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra and the Glenn Miller Orchestra with Buddy DeFranco.

Other upcoming performances in the Feature Fridays series include:
•    October 13 – Guitarist Diana Wagner of the Education Specialties Department;

•    November 10 – Guitarist Danielle Cumming and tenor John Wesley Wright of the Music, Theatre and Dance Department; and

•    December 8 – “Holiday Favorites Sing-Along” with Dr. William Folger of the Music, Theatre and Dance Department.
