Maryland Artist Collection on Display in Fulton Gallery

SALISBURY, MD---From March 5 through April 13 the Office of Cultural Affairs and Museum Programs at Salisbury State University will present “A Stately Heritage: Selections from the Maryland Artists Collection” the first in a series of traveling exhibitions held to launch the inauguration of Gerald A. Heeger, University of Maryland University College’s fourth president. 

The traveling exhibit, on loan to SSU from University of Maryland University College, opened at Frostburg State University last fall.    

Dena Crosson, Curator of the Maryland Artists Collection and Director of the University of Maryland University College Arts Program selected works that represent a cross-section of artistic endeavor over the past 70 years in Maryland.  The 30 works to be displayed include 1920s and 1930s landscapes, abstract expressionism from the 1960s and postmodern explorations full of symbolism and social commentary.

The Fulton Hall gallery is open Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.,  Saturday-Sunday, noon-4 p.m. and closed Monday.
