PAC 14 Offers Live Broadcast of SU Town Meeting

SALISBURY, MD---Those who cannot attend the Salisbury University Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement’s Town Meeting on the Wicomico County executive referendum may view the forum live on PAC 14. The forum is 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center. As part of a project funded by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, PACE has undertaken an independent, nonpartisan study of whether Wicomico County should move to a county executive form of governance. PACE will make the information available to voters at the Town Meeting. During the meeting, Dr. Harry Basehart, co-director of PACE, speaks on the proposed changes with Institute for Governmental Service consultant Victor K. Tervala, Esq., who conducted an exhaustive study of the issue on behalf of PACE. Tervala also presents his report, followed by a panel discussion with local participants who represent those in favor of and opposed to the amendment. In addition, representatives of Maryland counties that have considered a county executive form of government will be on the panel. PAC 14 will rebroadcast the meeting in during the days before the November 2 election. For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the SU Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
