Poet Satterfield Continues Writers-on-the-Shore Series Tuesday, March 25
SALISBURY, MD---Poet Jane Satterfield reads from her works as part of SU’s Writers-on-the-Shore series 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in the Worcester Room of the Commons.
Her presentation is part of SU’s Women’s History Month celebration.
The National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and William Faulkner Society Gold Medal winner’s most recent book of poems is Her Familiars, a follow-up to her two previous collections, Assignation at Vanishing Point and Shepherdess with an Automatic. She also is the author of Daughters of Empire: a Memoir of a Year in Britain and Beyond.
An associate professor in the Writing Department at Loyola University of Maryland, Satterfield has won the Mslexia Women’s Poetry Prize, the Florida Review Editor’s Prize in nonfiction and The Bellingham Review’s Parallel Poetry Prize. She also is the literary editor for the Journal of the Motherhood Initiative.
