Registration Opens Aug. 20 for PRESTO Preparatory School of Music at SU
SALISBURY, MD---Want to learn to play a musical instrument? Salisbury University can help.
PRESTO, the Preparatory School of Music at SU, is seeking students for its fall sessions, beginning Monday, September 9. Private instruction is available in strings (violin, viola, cello and bass), piano, voice, guitar, and most orchestral and band instruments. Group lessons in Suzuki violin commence this fall for children ages 3-6.
Students participate in 12 weekly sessions each semester, culminating in a student recital in December in Holloway Hall. Cost for private lessons range from $295 per semester for 30 minutes (less than $25 per lesson). Lessons for 45 minutes and one hour are also available. Half-hour sessions with student teachers are available for $216 per semester. Cost for group lessons is $225 per semester for 50-minute classes.
Lessons are offered on weekday afternoons or Saturday mornings. Except for piano, students are required to bring their own instruments. A limited number of need-based scholarships will be offered. Students must be participating in their school music program to be eligible for scholarships.
