Renowned guitarist Manuel Barrueco performs Oct. 1

SALISBURY, MD ------One of the world's most accomplished classical guitarists, Manuel Barrueco performs in concert Tuesday, October 1, at 7 p.m. at Salisbury University's Holloway Hall Auditorium.

This is Barrueco's second appearance at SU. Consistently described as possibly the finest classical guitarist of our time, his tours take him to some of the most important musical centers around the globe each season.

Barrueco, a native of Cuba, has performed with such orchestras as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony and others. Earlier this year he toured the U.S. and also completed his ninth tour of Japan. With a repertoire ranging from Latin American to Lennon and McCartney, Barrueco has released over a dozen recordings on EMI.

Barrueco emigrated to the United States in 1967 and later completed his studies at Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore where he teaches presently. His master classes attract students from all over the world.
