SGA Hosts Homecoming Spirit Week October 7-12

SALISBURY, MD---From a new parade to a TV star many students may remember from their childhood, this year’s Salisbury University Homecoming Spirit Week offers many opportunities for the campus community to celebrate.

Events begin with a pep rally from 7-10 p.m. Monday October 7, in Maggs Gym, featuring actor Kel Mitchell. He is best known for his starring role in the 1990s Nickelodeon sitcom Kenan & Kel and the 1997 movie Good Burger.

Game Show Night is 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, in Perdue Hall Room 156. A Big Six cookout, hosted by the Student Government Association (SGA), Appropriations Board, Student Organization for Activity Planning, Saferide, The Flyer and WXSU, follows from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, in the Sea Gull Square Pavilion.

A Battle of the Bands and wing-eating contest is 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 10, on Sea Gull Square Lawn. The annual Homecoming Pageant is 8-10 p.m. Friday, October 11, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.

New for this year is a Homecoming parade, beginning 10 a.m. Saturday, October 12, at the intramural fields on Wayne Street. The parade leads into the annual homecoming block party, scheduled from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the intramural fields.
