SU Alumni Board Announces New Executive Officers

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Alumni Association recently announced the appointment of three new executive officers on its board of directors: President Eric McLauchlin, Vice President Kerrie Jones Bunting and Secretary Dwight “Duke” Marshall Jr.

McLauchlin, who earned his Bachelor of Arts in pre-law and French from SU in 1992, is an attorney with the firm Gessner, Snee, Mahoney and Lutche, P.A., in Bel Air, MD. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1995. He is a past chair of the Young Lawyers and Bench Bar committees of the Harford County Park Association and a member of the Young Lawyers sections of the Maryland and American Bar associations.

The Fallston, MD, resident is a member of the boards of directors of the Harford Leadership Academy and the Home Builders Association of Maryland Shelter Foundation. He is a past vice president of the Homeless Persons Representation Project and former member of the Harford County Revolving Loan Fund Board of Trustees.

“The opportunity to serve as the president of the Alumni Association Board is an opportunity to advance and strengthen the University as a whole,” he said. “We all benefit from the strength that comes from the thousands of Salisbury alumni who support the missions and goals of the university.  The alumni board is in a unique position to offer its support through programs, benefits and services to students and members.”

Bunting earned her Bachelor of Science in biology from SU in 1992. The Cambridge, MD, native worked in medical research at Johns Hopkins University for seven years, earning her master’s degree in environmental studies and policy. She moved back to the Eastern Shore to raise her family.

“I volunteer for SU because I enjoy creating and perpetuating a positive community relationship,” she said. “SU is a great treasure for the Shore, and I want to be a part of what makes it so great.”

Marshall, a native of Smith Island, MD, earned his B.S. in liberal studies from SU in 1988. The owner of Marshall’s Nationwide Insurance in Pocomoke City, MD, and Drum Point Market in Tylerton, MD, he serves as chairman of the Tylerton Community Council and treasurer of the Lower Eastern Shore Heritage Committee. He also is a past president of the Salisbury Sunrise Rotary Club. While at SU, he was an active member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, which he credits with helping him further his leadership skills.
