SU Among Nation's 'Best Value Colleges for Teaching Degrees'
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University has been named one of the nation’s 50 Best Value Colleges for Teaching Degrees by Best Value Schools.com.
The website applauds SU’s Samuel W. and Marilyn C. Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies, saying: “Thanks to a generous endowment, [it] offers some of the best teaching degrees in the country. The school also stands out for its well-developed internship program.
“While classroom experience is crucial to any teaching degree, Salisbury incorporates a mentorship component that pairs you with a ‘mentor-teacher’ who can provide meaningful guidance during your internship experience.”
SU is a three-time recipient of the National Association of Professional Development Schools’ Exemplary Professional Development School (PDS) Achievement Award for such partnerships with areas school districts.
In addition, Best Value Schools.com calls SU’s elementary and early childhood education major “a great choice for anyone who wants the opportunity to teach at both levels.”
Selection factors include teacher education program popularity and breadth, as well as acceptance, graduate and retention rates, and cost. All campuses spotlighted are four-year, public and private institutions that offer multiple bachelor’s degrees in teaching and have an average annual net price below $30,000.
Also included on the list were the University of Georgia, Ohio State University, the University of Delaware and Clemson University.
