SU Chapter of Pi Gamma Mu Earns 'Roll of Distinction' Honor
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s chapter of Pi Gamma Mu recently received national honors, earning a spot on the international honor society’s Roll of Distinction.
The SU chapter was one of only seven nationwide to earn the accolade, the highest an active chapter can receive.
Pi Gamma Mu is the international honor society in the social sciences. This marked the seventh time in seven years SU’s chapter was listed on the Roll of Distinction.
Since the chapter’s inception in 1982 and chartering in 1983 it has also earned the Roll of Merit, the second highest award, three times. In 2000, the chapter earned the International Award for Service for collecting more than 140 boxes of food, clothing, dental supplies, blankets and other items for flood victims in eastern North Carolina.
