SU Fashion Show Benefits Kids of Honor October 13

SALISBURY, MD---From varsity letterman jackets to the latest preppy trends, a fashion show at Salisbury University showcases the styles of high school 8-10 p.m. Saturday, October 13, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.

Developed and performed by the student organization Casser Le Moule (Breaking the Mold), the event will benefit Kids of Honor, an incentive program for children in the local community.  The show’s theme is “High School: Battle of the Cliques.”

“Our goal is to raise money while showcasing authentic fashions,” said SU senior Jean-Claude St. Sulme, Jr., founder and president of Casser Le Moule.  “It will be colorful and elegant.  We want to take the audience back in time to a world of chalkboards, erasers, hall passes and composition books.”  All fashions are designed and created by SU students.

Founded in 2001 by Paula Morris, marketing faculty in SU’s Purdue Business School, Kids of Honor, Inc. is a non-profit organization that strives to improve the lives and futures of struggling students by empowering them to graduate from high school.  The organization enhances 19 local youth programs by encouraging personal responsibility among their participants.

Supplementing the activities of their partner programs, Kids of Honor, Inc. also hosts events to engage the students and their families through service and learning activities.  Kids of Honor, Inc. provides a consistent support system, encouraging young people to make positive decisions for their future.  For more information on Kids of Honor, please visit www.kidsofhonor.org.

Morris saw the need for more positive reinforcement for students so she developed the program, with the motto of “Catch them doing something right and encourage them to continue.”

Sponsored by Casser Le Moule, admission to this benefit $7, $5 for students of all ages, and free for children 5 and under.  The public is invited.  For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the SU Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
