SU Foundation Welcomes Five New Board Members
SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Foundation Inc. recently welcomed five new members to its board of directors: Melissa Judkins of Easton, MD; David Moore, Robert Moore and Kevin Myers of Salisbury; and Leland Trice of Ocean City, MD.
Judkins earned her B.S. in elementary education from SU in 1989. She is chair of the Country School Live Auction and Memorial Hospital Gala Auction, and past chair of the Academy Art Museum Arts Marketplace Preview Party. She also is a member of the Country School Parents Association. Judkins replaces her husband, Wayne, as a board member. Wayne Judkins retired from the foundation board in May.
David Moore is a well-known attorney in the Salisbury area. The son of board member emeritus Marshall Moore, his introduction to SU came as a student of the Campus Elementary School from 1960-1963. The former Baltimore County state’s attorney has practiced criminal law for 26 years. In addition to the foundation board, he serves with Junior Achievement of Salisbury, the Joseph House Christian Shelter, West Salisbury Little League and Salisbury B.P.O. Elks Lodge 817.
Robert Moore is the founder and owner of the Salisbury accounting firm Moore & Co., P.A. A director and executive committee member of Bay National Bank, he also serves as chairman of the trustees of the Wicomico County Pension System. He is a board member of the Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development Corporation and the Greater Salisbury Committee. He also is a member of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce and Trinity United Methodist Church. He is past president of the Eastern Shore chapter of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and a board of directors member of The Bank of Fruitland, Maple Shade Residential Homes Inc., the Holly Foundation and Green Hill Yacht and Country Club. He lives with his wife, Susan, and has two grown children, Charles and Sarah, both SU graduates.
A former adjunct professor of accounting in SU’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, Myers heads the tax department of the accounting firm Trice Geary & Myers LLC. A former auditor with the U.S. Department of Treasury, he began his public accounting career with the national accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, and is past president of the Eastern Shore chapter of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Trice is the owner and president of Trice Valuation Services LLC in Salisbury. He is a past treasurer and board member of the Salisbury Lions Club, former board of directors chair for the Go-Getters Foundation, and a water and sewer district advisory board member for the Mystic Harbour residential complex. He has held several positions with the Appraisal Institute, including chair, vice chair and discussion leader for its Leadership Development Advisory Council. He also is an appraisals instructor at Wor-Wic Community College and FutureValue LLC.
“These new board members, with their varied interests and backgrounds, are all united by a genuine affection for Salisbury University,” said Rosemary Thomas, executive director of the SU Foundation and vice president of advancement. “I think they will enthusiastically work to strengthen ties between the campus and the greater community. They want to see the University advance as a Maryland institution of national distinction, and as has often been pointed out, nothing great was ever achieved without such enthusiasm!”
