SU Issues Route 13 Traffic Advisory 9-11 a.m. Mar. 7
Thursday March 3, 2016
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University has issued a traffic advisory for U.S. Route 13 from 9-11 a.m. Monday, March 7.
A convoy of flatbed trucks carrying materials for the construction of SU’s new Guerrieri Academic Commons is expected to cause significant traffic disruptions from Crystal Steel in Delmar, DE, to the campus.
The trucks will carry sections of a large screen wall, to be assembled and installed in front of the building’s four-story glass atrium to mitigate sunlight and assist with temperature control.
The procession of vehicles will be escorted by Maryland State Police, using two lanes of Route 13 for the 16-foot-wide payload. Significant traffic disruptions and delays are expected as the convoy proceeds at approximately 10 mph for the nine-mile journey, lasting about 1.5 to 2 hours. Travelers are encouraged to avoid delays by taking alternate routes during that time.
