SU Offers Teacher Training on Islam and the Arab World
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University offers a teacher workshop on “Content and Strategies for Teaching about the Arab World and Islam” 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, February 11, at the Wicomico County Board of Education, Annex 2.
Open to current teachers, school administrators and education students, the workshop is led by educator Audrey Shabbas of Arab World and Islamic Resources (AWAIR) and sponsored by the Middle East Policy Council. Topics include cultural geography, history, family and women, and the recommendation of materials that may be helpful when teaching about modern times in the region.
Sponsored by the Department of Education and Muslim Student Association at SU, registration is $10 and free to current SU education students.
