SU Participates in Maryland STEM Festival Nov. 14

Maryland STEM FestivalSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University invites prospective students and their families – especially those interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) majors – to a special Open House on Saturday, November 14. 

Check-in is 8:30-9:15 a.m. in Holloway Hall Lobby. The program starts at 9:30 a.m. with presentations by faculty members and administrators about various aspects of the University. Campus tours follow from 10:15-11:30 a.m. Prospective students then have the opportunity to meet with faculty and staff regarding campus programs starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center.

Those who are interested in STEM programs may attend a special session on “The Path to Your Future: STEM Majors at SU” from noon-1:30 p.m. in Henson Science Hall. Activities include demonstrations and the chance to talk with faculty and students about SU’s STEM programs, including mathematics, computer science, biology, geosciences, chemistry and physics, as well as undergraduate research and other STEM-related opportunities. 

The STEM Open House is part of the Maryland STEM Festival, an inaugural week-long series of collaborative and interactive events happening across the state November 6-15. The goal is to provide information about educational STEM opportunities throughout the state and connect current and future leaders in STEM fields.

The University encourages all students to visit SU as part of the college selection process. Saturday Open House visitors do not need to register for a parking pass.
