SU Pub Night Honors Faculty and Staff Grants, Publications and Service
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University recently celebrated faculty and staff research, publications, creative works and academic service during its second annual Pub Night @ the Library.
During the event at Blackwell Library, Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs Diane Allen and Dr. Clifton Griffin, dean of graduate studies and research, recognized members of the University community who had secured $500,000 or more in grants.
They included Drs. Deborah Mathews of the Social Work Department, Molly Parsons of the Nursing Department and Kathy Scott of the Counseling Center. Each received a certificate and a gift card to SoBo’s restaurant. Also honored were faculty who wrote or edited eight books and 74 articles and book chapters, and who served on state, national and international boards.
“We are proud to recognize our faculty and staff who have given so freely of their talents,” said Griffin. “They have excelled in scholarship, as seen by their publications. They have demonstrated service, modeling civic engagement for our students, and they have achieved grants and awards that truly reflect SU’s status as A Maryland University of National Distinction.”
Dr. Beatriz Hardy, dean of libraries and instructional resources, agreed: “Pub Night is a unique way to honor faculty and staff for their many achievements throughout the year. We congratulate them all and look forward to their continued success.”
President Janet Dudley-Eshbach also personally congratulated the honorees.
