SU Screens Documentary 'The New Black' Tuesday, October 13

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University co-sponsors a screening of the documentary The New Black 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, in Fulton Hall Room 111.

The film, by director Yoruba Richen, tells the story of how the African-American community is grappling with gay rights issues in light of the recent marriage equality movement and the fight for civil rights.

The Rev. Cedric Harmon, co-director of Many Voices.com, an African-American church movement for gay and transgender justice, leads a discussion following the screening.

Sponsored by SU, the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights and the Lower Shore LGBTQ Coalition, admission is free and the public is invited.
