SU Welcomes Scott Brown as New Alumni Director
Tuesday January 27, 2004
SALISBURY, MD---Some 30,000 people call Salisbury University their Alma Mater and as SU’s new director of alumni relations, Scott Brown wants to meet them all. Brown lists meeting as many alumni as possible, strengthening the SU Alumni Foundation and growing the SU Fund as his main goals—an extension of his former duties as director of annual giving at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. “The challenge of the position was something that attracted me to SU,” Brown said, adding he was already somewhat familiar with the area, having driven through Salisbury many times during family vacations to Chincoteague, VA. At SU Brown hopes to expand the Alumni Association beyond its current chapters in Annapolis; Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; New York; Raleigh-Durham, NC; Worcester County, MD; and the Lower Shore and grow the chapters that already exist. Prior to his career in higher education, he was an executive and assistant director at several museums, including the Isaiah Davenport House Museum in Savannah, GA, the Spartanburg County Museum of Art in Spartanburg, SC, and Belle Grove Plantation in Middletown, VA. Brown earned his Bachelor of Science from James Madison University in 1989. He lives with his wife, Michelle, and their three children, Shannon and Molly, 5, and Wyatt, 7 months.
