SU Wind Ensemble Continues Music Festival December 6

class=""MsoNormal"">SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s “Ornaments in Harmony” fall music festival continues with the SU Wind Ensemble 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.

class=""MsoNormal"">The program includes a blend of holiday classics, such as “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” with non-traditional pieces such as selections from Frank Tichelli’s Cajun Folk Songs, conducted by Katherine Kilmon.

class=""MsoNormal"">"December concerts provide opportunities to perform many well known and even newer compositions that are associated with this holiday season," said conductor Lee Knier. "We've included, however, a few selections that are simply interesting to perform without regard to any season or event. Cajun Folk Songs is a hauntingly beautiful piece in two movements that starts simply, but grows on the listener as it becomes more complex and intense."

class=""MsoNormal"">Other pieces include Mozart’s Concerto for Clarinet, K. 622, 1st Movement; Eric Whitacre’s October; J.S. Bach’s “Sheep May Safely Graze” from Cantata No. 208; Johnny Marks’ “Most Wonderful Time of the Year;” “O come, O come Emmanuel”; Strauss’ “Radetzky March” and Floyd Werle’s “A Celebration of Christmas” and Claude T.
