Salisbury Youth Orchestra Features 'High School Musical'
SALISBURY, MD---Go Wildcats!
Members of the Salisbury Youth Orchestra “get their head in the game,” performing a medley from the Disney Channel movie High School Musical during its annual spring concert 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, in Salisbury University’s Holloway Hall Auditorium.
Conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Schoyen, the orchestra also plays more traditional pieces by Rimski-Korsakov, Brahms, Grundman and Copland.
Established in 1989, the Salisbury Youth Orchestra is a full orchestra with strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. With some 40 members, it provides performance opportunities for students who can read music, typically ranging in age from fourth grade to high school seniors.
Admission is $5 at the door. The public is invited. This program is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council, awarded by the Maryland State Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
