Science Nights @ SU Program Continues Nov. 16

SALISBURY, MD---Interested in mathematics or the sciences?  Salisbury University continues its free Science Nights @ SU program for high school students.

During sessions, experts explore various math- and science-related fields, discussing current research, career options and more. All Science Night presentations are 6-8 p.m. in Henson Science Hall Room 103.

The series continues Wednesday, November 16, with a session on Math and Computer Science presented by Drs. Donald Spickler and Jennifer Bergner.

“Have you ever looked into a mirrored sphere, such as a Christmas ornament or a gazing ball, and noticed the image you saw was distorted? Have you ever wondered if this same image could appear non-distorted? Using mathematics, we will engage in activities that answer these questions,” Bergner said.

Other upcoming topics include Earth and Atmospheric Science on Thursday, February 23, and Chemistry on Wednesday, March 28.

The sessions are open to all high school students from the local region and beyond, especially those considering careers in the growing fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
