'Scrolls and Books' Features Non-Traditional Art January 13

SALISBURY, MD---Artists working with non-traditional materials present an interpretation of some of the world’s earliest written and visual forms of communication in the exhibition “Scrolls and Books” at the Salisbury University Gallery in Fulton Hall Tuesday, January 13. The display continues through Friday, February 13. The exhibition includes some 19 artists from Gallery 10 Ltd., one of the earliest established galleries in Washington, D.C., for experimental and high-risk work. Gallery 10 is located at the heart of the city’s Dupont Circle gallery district. Works displayed at SU combine symbols, patterns, color and personal subject matter using physical print media and representations of print media to assemble a provocative show. Artists featured in the exhibit are Anne Banks, Lucy Blankstein, Maxine R. Cable, Sabine Carlson, Nancy Cusick Fox, Nancy Hersch Ingram, Gary Irby, Ivona Dalia Kaz-Jepsen, Mary Virginia Langston, Carol Lukitsch, Janet Maher, Gloria Monteiro Rall, Emily Light Rose, Ellouise Schoettler, Pat Segnan, Sarah Stout, Claudia Vess and Gail Hillow Watkins. Gallery hours throughout the exhibit are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Weekend hours from noon-4 p.m. are added beginning Saturday, January 31. Admission is free and the public is cordially invited.
