Senkbeil presents at chemistry conference

SALISBURY, MD ------Dr. Edward Senkbeil, professor of chemistry at Salisbury University, recently attended the 17th Biennial Conference on Chemical Education held at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA.

Senkbeil has developed several chemical demonstrations at SU which are not only entertaining, but also useful in exploring the factors affecting chemical reactions. At the conference, Senkbeil presented "Laboratory Demonstrations for Teaching Combustion" as part of the workshop, "Chemical Demos and Tricks of the Trade."

Senkbeil uses a variety of demonstrations in the courses he teaches at SU to develop student interests and student concepts of chemical principles.
