Small Speaks on Zora Neale Hurston Book November 9

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Clara L. Small, professor of history at Salisbury University, leads a book discussion and lecture at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday November 9 at the Worcester County Public Library in Ocean City, MD. Discussion focuses on Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. It is the story of the transformation of a woman into a rebel heroine who does not conform to the traditional rules of society or the beliefs of her neighbors. Their Eyes Were Watching God is the last of the five-part book series “Scarlet Women: Rebel Heroines in Literature” coordinated by Delmarva Discussions. The program is funded by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and supported in part by the Delaware Division of Libraries. The programs are free and open to the public.
