Tchekmazov, GoncharovaPerform Russian Program October 6"

class=""MsoNormal"">SALISBURY, MD---Russian music takes center stage at Salisbury University 7 p.m. Thursday, October 6, as renowned musicians Andrey Tchekmazov and Tatiana Goncharova perform in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.

class=""MsoNormal"">Tchekmazov has made a name for himself as a cello soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. Born and raised in Russia, he studied at the Moscow State Conservatory. Once in the United States, he studied at The Juilliard School under the direction of Harvey Shapiro.

class=""MsoNormal"">Goncharova is an aspiring piano soloist and ensemble partner who has established a highly acclaimed career in music. She has been the recipient of several prizes and awards including the Olga Koussevitzky Piano Competition, Moscow Conservatory Concerto Competition and Byelorussian National Competition. Goncharova recently has performed recitals in Brazil, Uruguay, Peru and Spain. In the United States, their performances have included a collaboration with the prestigious Lyric Chamber Music Society of New York.
