Theatre Fund-Raiser Benefits SU Scholarships Sept. 22-24

SALISBURY, MD---Comedy and drama come together for a cause at Salisbury University during Mono a Mono, a collection of monologues and short scenes drawn from a variety of modern authors including syndicated columnist Dave Barry and local playwright John Ebert.

Guest artists Martha Pfeiffer and Kelley Rouse join Ebert for three performances to benefit SU theatre student scholarships Friday-Sunday, September 22-24, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall. Curtain is 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday. In addition to Barry and Ebert, performances are inspired by the works of author Ellen Goodman, Greater Tuna co-creators Jason Watson and Joe Sears and Head On creator Elizabeth Dewberry.

“Each year, promising future artists are lost to other schools and universities simply because they can offer more attractive scholarship money,” said Dr. T. Paul Pfeiffer, director of SU’s Bobbi Biron Theatre Program. “As we grow and hope to bring better theatre to the Delmarva Peninsula, we must also strive to attract talented students to meet those standards.

“In these times, the Theatre Scholarship Fund is the only true hope of reaching this goal. This performance is offered to the community in an effort to raise much-needed money for the fund.”
