Waldron Leads Live Webcast About SU's Campus Network

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University Chief Information Officer Jerome Waldron was recently featured on a live webcast as part of an online seminar about campus networks.

Titled “Leveraging Your Campus Network to Support Campus Life,” the free web-based seminar for higher education professionals was designed to share methods of improving the computer networks that have become essential to faculty, staff and students.

Waldron discussed some of the on-going challenges faced by information technology professionals, as the capabilities of campus data networks continue to grow.  Such systems are already expected to support teaching and learning across all areas of curriculum, to provide academic support services in a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week environment and to offer recreation and entertainment for students, according to seminar organizers.

At SU, Waldron is responsible for academic and administrative computing, PC and Helpdesk support, data and voice networks, classroom technology and media services, overseeing a staff of more than 40. He serves on the operations board of directors for the University System of Maryland Telecommunications System and is also project manager for implementing the University’s Enterprise Resource Planning system, which is the administrative software for student records, admissions, human resources, finance and other areas.
