Waters Reads From New Book, Chairs Panel"
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Michael Waters, Salisbury State University English professor, recently read from his new book, Parthenopi: New and Selected Poems (BOA Editions, 2001) and conducted the graduate poetry workshop at the University of Louisville.
Waters will also chair the panel, “Anthologists: The Next Generation,” at the upcoming annual conference of the Associated Writing Programs in Palm Springs, CA. The panel consisting of poets who have assumed editorship of standard texts includes: Dana Gioia editor of Introduction to Poetry, Michelle Boisseau editor of Writing Poems and David Mason editor of Western Wind. Waters is the new editor of Contemporary American Poetry (Houghton Mifflin, 2001).
Waters also edited A. Poulin, Jr.: Selected Poems, to be published in July by BOA Editions, and co-edited Perfect in Their Art: Poems on Boxing from Homer to Ali, to be published by Southern Illinois University Press in 2002.
