Women's Recognition Day - March 10

SALISBURY, MD-- As part of Women's History Month celebrations, the Wicomico County Commission for Women (WCCW) is honoring 20 area leaders including two from Salisbury University: President Janet Dudley-Eshbach and nursing faculty Mary Kane.

Dudley-Eshbach is featured speaker at the Women's Recognition Day 2002 ceremonies on Sunday, March 10, from 2-4 p.m. in SU's Great Hall of Holloway Hall. WCCW recognizes outstanding accomplishments that women have made to Wicomico County through both social change and personal triumph in employment, education, civic engagement and public service, said Charletta House, chair of the commission.

The WCCW Hall of Fame also posthumously honors women whose legacies have enriched the lives of all. This year's Hall of Fame inductees are Lucile H. Horsley, Imogene Horton and Matina Sarbanes.

Area women being honored also include: Ethel Berry, Julia Birckhead, Melissa P. Bright, Jackie Cassidy, Bettie Collins, Gladys Goslee, Louise Harcum, Barbara Hughes, Ann Jones, Jean S. Laws, Kathleen McLain, Florence Nutter-McDonald, Althea "Tee" O'Connor, W. Sue Piper, Audrey Rivers, Jennifer Roser, Sandra Spurlock and Lois Wilburn.
