Writers-on-the-Shore Series presents Natasha Trethewey April 29
SALISBURY, MD--- As part of its Writers-on-the-Shore series, the Department of English at Salisbury University presents poet Natasha Trethewey on Tuesday, April 29, at 8 p.m. in the Montgomery Room, Commons building.
Trethewey is the winner of the inaugural Cave Canem Poetry Prize for the best first book, chosen by Rita Dove, by an African-American poet for Domestic Work (Graywolf, 2000). She has also published Bellocq's Ophelia (Graywolf, 2002), a sequence based on photographs of mixed-race prostitutes in New Orleans circa 1912.
