Youth Program - deadline Aug. 8

SALISBURY, MD -- Youth ages 11-15 years in Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset counties are invited to attend Salisbury University's Buffalo Soldiers' Summer Youth Program Monday, August 12 through Thursday, August 15. The free half-day camp offers workshops on the history of the Buffalo Soldiers, basic first aid, military field drill maneuvers and horseback riding lessons. Applications must be postmarked by Thursday, August 8 and are available from Dr. Clara Small of the SU History Department, 410-543-6523, or Althea Chandler, 410-860-5005. The program is sponsored by The Thomas E. Polk, Sr. Chapter of the 9th and 10th (Horse) Cavalry Association of the Buffalo Soldiers and the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore.
