Children's Literature Conference Sat., February 27: Featured Speaker Barry Louis Polisar

SALISBURY, MD--Author and vocalist Barry Louis Polisar is the featured speaker at the annual Childrenâs Literature Conference on Saturday, February 27, at Salisbury State University.

Polisar has been writing and singing for children since 1974 and frequently visits schools throughout the United States and Europe. He has performed at the White House, the Smithsonian and the Kennedy Center. He has also written for Ranger Rick and Instructor Magazine. Polisar is the star of a nationally-syndicated educational television show for children and has written songs for Sesame Street and The Weekly Reader.

Polisar has written and published many books and recordings. Some of his books include The Trouble with Ben, The Snake Who Was Afraid of People and the Haunted House Party. Recordings include Family Concert, Family Trip and Teacherâs Favorites. His books and recordings will be available for purchase and autographing at the conference.

The conference begins with a keynote speaker, to be announced, followed by workshop sessions conducted by area educators.
